The Dallas Symphony Orchestra celebrates the 30-year collaboration of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn with trail-blazing pianist Lara Downes, conducted by William Eddins. Symphonic jazz classics including "A Flower is a Lovesome Thing," "Strange Feeling," "Night Creature" and "Something to Live For," plus favorite Gershwin overtures, evoking the vitality of the 1940s Harlem jazz scene. Tickets starting at $38. Additional performances: Saturday, November 7, 7:30 PM and Sunday, November 8, 2:00 PM.
